New 176-Room Hilton Hotel Planned Near Boise Airport

Wealth Hospitality Group applied to build a $20.3 million dual-branded Hilton with 176 rooms on West Elder Street. The site sits across Interstate 84 from the Gowen Field terminal.

A Mississippi-based hospitality firm is angling to bring another overnight option to the area around the Boise Airport. Wealth Hospitality Group of Ridgeland, Mississippi, applied in September to build a new dual-branded Hilton hotel on West Elder Street, across Interstate 84 from the Gowen Field terminal. As planned, the $20.3 million project would add 176 rooms to the inventory of airport-adjacent chain lodging, according to documents filed with the city.

Filings state that the property would split rooms between two Hilton brands: Tru, a budget option that offers modern, minimalist rooms; and Home2, comprised of extended-stay suites. The Treasure Valley already has one of each brand, with a Home2 in downtown Boise and a Tru hotel on Eagle Road in Meridian. Wealth Hospitality isn’t behind either of those, according to its website, but it specializes in developing Hilton- and Marriott-branded hotels nationwide.

The private company has built dozens of properties, according to its website, though none yet in Idaho. That is on track to change: Beyond the Boise project, it has two similar hotels under development in Coeur d’Alene. The applicant could not immediately be reached for comment. The four-story hotel will join a dozen or so other chains operating around the Boise Airport, which served more than 5.2 million passengers last year. MD
