United Airlines unveils the largest airline lounge in the Americas at Houston Airport, with 800 seats, outdoor terrace and premium amenities.
United Airlines is opening the largest airline lounge in North and South America at Houston’s George Bush Intercontinental Airport, introducing a massive 54,000-square-foot United Club with seating for 800 passengers.
The new lounge is part of United’s Terminal B North Concourse, which opens to travelers on October 22, 2026. The development forms part of a wider $2.6 billion transformation programme aimed at modernizing the airline’s Houston hub.
Located on the mezzanine level of the new terminal, the United Club will offer significantly more space for passengers waiting for domestic and international connections.
The lounge includes a 1,350-square-foot outdoor terrace overlooking the airfield, two full-service bars, two buffet stations and 11 private phone rooms.
Passengers will also find high-speed Wi-Fi, power outlets and dedicated areas for working, dining and relaxing before departure.
The scale of the new facility reflects growing competition among US airlines to attract premium travelers and frequent flyers through upgraded airport experiences.
The new Terminal B North Concourse covers 765,000 square feet across three levels and introduces 22 gates designed for larger mainline aircraft.
Every United flight departing from the new North Concourse will use a jet bridge, eliminating the need for outdoor boarding at those gates.
The terminal also includes a sensory room, children’s play area, expanded seating and 10 public art installations reflecting Houston’s culture and history.
Passengers will find several local food and beverage brands, including B&B Butchers & Restaurant, Rosie Cannonball, Pizaro’s Pizza, Blood Bros. BBQ and Katz Coffee.
United operates more than 500 daily departures from Houston and serves 65 international destinations from the airport.
The airline has invested more than $3.5 billion in Houston airport facilities since 2015.
Combined with improvements to Terminal B South, the redevelopment will give United 48 gates in Terminal B and increase passenger capacity during peak travel periods.
For travelers connecting through Houston, the new lounge and terminal promise a more comfortable airport experience, particularly during longer layovers.
United Club access continues to depend on eligible memberships, qualifying tickets and other applicable entry rules.
