is there a way to see if there are other flights too?
Those are the only flights as part of this drop. Qantas has indicated that they will do this more often - like a monthly drop.
thanks! is there a way to figure out when they do the monthly drops?
sign up for promotional emails, my email came around 10:48 today so it was already late. Didn't matter as I was not going to book anyways. Follow a few travel bloggers, they may post sooner and hopefully going forward if this becomes a regular feature they will advertise this with bit of notice.
Tokyo (January 2027) Starting Price: Business Class (one-way) from 82,100 points + A$378 (e.g., Brisbane to Tokyo Narita) Route Outbound Flight(s) (5 Jan 2027) Return Flight(s) (12 Jan 2027) Sydney ↔ Tokyo (Haneda) QF25, QF59 QF26, QF60
Seems like it might already be sold out? I am not seeing any Business Class rewards SYD-HND for the 5th-12th January 2027 at those costs. It is currently showing as 419,300 pts + $385 for the SYD—>HND leg.
Edit: MEL & BNE in Business Class to Tokyo also not available at those points prices.
E.g. Melbourne to Tokyo in Business class on the 5th is showing as 419,300 pts + $467
if there was any biz availability, it would have been snapped in the first few mins.
It was completely gone for japan when i looked within 45mins of getting the email.
At 10am there were still a number of flights, but as soon as that email went live game over 😂
Unrelated, but what's the best way to earn points these days outside of churn? Getting a Qantas credit card?
NGL but paris in premium economy for that is a rip off.
Who wants to go to Tokyo in January? Only economy option is Hobart?!
Sales of Qantas is awful! Doesnt sound like a sales, sounds more like a clearance on certain days for travelling
These would be decent prices for return flights. But one way are not good value.
And this is why I stoped collecting Qantas points and moved to Singapore Air KrisFlyer. Qantas organises its points to only be reasonable in the off times (eg outside school holidays) which I don't object to from a business perspective but they are horrendously high any other times (think 1.5 million points for business return to Europe somewhere, when it used to be 100,000).
What I find completely unacceptable is engineering semi-reasonable points ONE WAY ONLY and then charge the same for the one way flight home that they charge if you had just paid cash for BOTH ways. They are pretending that the points are usable, but they really are not unless you are completely flexible to go to unpopular destinations at odd times of the year, and even then have to pay a cash top up of a large percentage of a discount fare anyway.
The flights to Paris would have been good. Its a 787-9 with the premium economy in a 2-3-2. Sold out though.
Bne Hobart is showing 13800 for me for those dates not 9200 - is that the norm just because of the extra flight distance vs mel?
Nabbed business return to Japan, 160k points and about $700 in tax. The economy deal was actually pretty good value as well… 60k return and a few hundred in tax. Considering cash tickets in January can be $2k+
