Now that’s not something you hear every day. Following Cristiano Ronaldo’s retirement from Portugal’s national team last Thursday, airline “Transavia” is now honoring the superstar with a special gesture.
As ‘Bild’ reports, it is removing a seat from its planes.
On ‘Instagram,’ the airline posted a photo of a seat on a plane with a Ronaldo national team jersey draped over it, writing: “CR7 is hanging up his boots, and now we’re also removing our 7C seats on our flights to Funchal.”
According to ‘Bild,’ the reason is that Funchal, on Madeira, is Ronaldo’s birthplace. And seat 7C is a nod to his nickname, CR7—a combination of his initials and his favorite jersey number, which he has worn ever since joining Manchester United in 2003.
What do you think of the airline’s gesture? Let us know in the comments!
